Season ends for Lady Spartan tennis team
The 2015 season came to an end for the Sparta girls tennis team Monday, as the Lady Spartan netters failed to come up with a victory at the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association sub-sectional in Tomah.
Mississippi Valley Conference champion La Crosse Central won the nine-team sub-sectional with 22 team tallies, while Onalaska earned 20 points to finish runner-up.
Third place went to Baraboo with 14 points, followed by Holmen and Tomah tied for fourth with six points apiece, La Crosse Logan in sixth with four points, Portage and Reedsburg tied for seventh with two points apiece and Sparta with zero points in ninth place.
Tomah sophomore Lindsey Conway, who is 15-5 on the season, finished first in the No. 2 singles flight to advance to WIAA sectional play.
