PHILLIP F. GENSKE
October 11, 1930 — May 31, 2021
SPARTA - Phillip F. Genske, 90, of Sparta, and formerly of Wilton, died Monday, May 31, 2021, at the Serenity House, Tomah. He was born October 11, 1930, to Emil and Erna (Kisser) Genske.
He was baptized and confirmed July 1944 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wilton. He attended the Slabtown Country School in the Town of Wellington. He was united in marriage to Marcella Marx on June 24, 1961, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Together they farmed in Coles Valley. Phillip was a small engine mechanic and could fix just about anything. He worked on every type of tractor and had up to 20 tractors at one time that he was working on. He enjoyed his time going to auctions and farm related shows, collecting antiques, and collecting toy tractors. He will always be remembered for his clever sayings and his strong German Heritage.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marcella of Sparta, 4 children, Rick (Monica) of Warrens, Randy (Laura) of Sparta, Ronald Sr of Sparta, and Pamela Gowin of Marshfield, 11 grandchildren, Mary, Mack, Jeffery, Jonathan, Jordan, Jacob, Ronald Jr., Katie Genske, and Brittany, Breanna, and Brogan Gowin, 7 great-grandchildren, Nelly, Rylee, Taylon, Zailey, Jayla, Kandence, Alexander, and 1 expected granddaughter, many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021, 1:00 P.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 401 Mill St, Wilton. Pastor Cathleen Morris will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.
