Eleonora Laufenberg, age 86, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, November 24, 2015. She was born to Mario and Maria Bravetti on September 5, 1929 in Roma, Italia.
Eleonora was united in marriage April 14, 1947 to Louis Laufenberg in Roma. She was very proud of her Italian heritage and was proud to teach and show her family where she was raised. Eleonora and Louie enjoyed camping on weekends at Jellystone with the “Stewed Crew”. In her spare time she enjoyed numerous bridge clubs, sorority and weekly get-togethers at The Pub. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren attending their activities and sporting events. She was a faithful member of the Queen of the Apostles Parish and was actively involved with the St. Mary’s P.C.C.W.
She is survived by children: her son, Fred (Donna) Laufenberg of Crossville, TN and their children, Jessica (Josh) Johnson and Ericka (Jason) Wentworth; her son, John (Chris) Laufenberg of Tomah, WI and their children, Erin (Christian) Dawley, Carrie (Brandon) Leipzig, Benjamin Laufenberg and Robert (Kelly) Laufenberg; her daughter, Diana (Paul) Gerke of Tomah, WI, and their children, Jay (Kristen) Gerke, Chad (Mandy) Gerke and Kim (Greg) Voigt; her son, Stephen (Sharon) Laufenberg of Madison, WI and their children, Stephanie (Bill) Coady and Sarah (Henry) Thiele; and her daughter, Debra (Jerry) Lindberg of Minneapolis, MN and their children, Brian (Jennie) Lindberg and Anna (Eric) Smugala, 21 and 1/2 great grandchildren;
Sisters-in-law, Doris Martin, Betty Forbish and Denise McCarthy; brothers-in-law, Gordon Brasseur, Arthur (Diana) Laufenberg and Michael (Ruth) Foley; her dog Bella; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis; two sisters, Tina and Diana; two sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, November 28, 2015, 10:30 a.m. at the Queen of Apostles Parish at St. Mary’s Church in Tomah. Monsignor Richard Gilles officiated. Burial followed in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Tomah, WI.
Family and friends were invited for visitation Friday, November 27, 2015, from 3-6 p.m. with a rosary which concluded visitation at 6 p.m. Family and friends were also invited for visitation Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
